You've probably found this page because you're a friend or a friend of a friend. Welcome to our odd little non-business venture! Our goal is to raise money for local food-focused nonprofits. Each month, we'll select an organization and ask our friends to donate (we recommend $10 - $15 per 10-inch pizza) directly to that organization. Send us a copy of your receipt, and we'll make you a pizza to celebrate. You can take it home with you or enjoy it on our deck. More details are below, but that's the basic idea.
Update: The next Pizza Monkey Night will be in May 2025.
Subscribe to our mailing list (below) and once a month, when the weather looks favorable and the stars align, we'll notify you about the date and time of the next Pizza Monkey Night. We'll offer two kinds of pizza, at least one of which will be vegetarian. There will be 35 pizzas up for grabs to the first people to respond. You can reserve one or two pizzas (and donate to the nonprofit accordingly). We'll confirm your reservation, and you'll send us a copy (screenshot, photo, whatever works) of your donation receipt within two days. You'll also let us know which half-hour window (from 5:00 to 7:30) you'll be stopping by for your pizza. This way not everyone will show up all at once and have to stand around waiting for pizza. We won't make your pizza until you arrive so that it's fresh from the oven. If you plan to eat on our spacious deck, feel free to bring your own beverage, salad, whatever.
We've experimented with a lot of pizza styles and dough recipes over the years, and for now we've settled on a Roman-style dough that, in addition to water, flour, salt, and yeast, has olive oil and a little sugar. It ferments in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, slowly developing a satisfying flavor such that few people consider leaving the "bones" behind. We let the dough warm to room temperature and stretch and toss it to the desired width. Then we artfully arrange some tasty toppings and slide it into our Gozney Roccbox pizza oven at 750F for a couple of minutes. Below are a few recent pies. We've started sharing our pizza on Instagram via our @pizzamonkey4good handle and on Facebook.
